How NeuroTrainer is Changing the Game in ADHD Treatment and Mitigating the Negative Effects of Technology

School administrators are tasked with ensuring that students have the resources they need to succeed academically.

One significant challenge that many students face is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which can impact every aspect of their lives, including their ability to focus and complete schoolwork.

While there are various interventions available for students with ADHD, recent research suggests that NeuroTrainer may be a promising new option.

The Effects of Cognitive Training on Attention and Schoolwork in Students

NeuroTrainer recently released a  whitepaper that highlights two pilot studies conducted to evaluate the potential impact of NeuroTrainer on ADHD-related behaviors and ADHD itself.

The studies involved a total of 23 students, with one group characterized as struggling in school and demonstrating a higher level of ADHD-related behaviors, whether or not they were actually diagnosed.

The other group was more traditional and did not demonstrate as many ADHD-related behaviors.

The results of the studies were promising.

The students who used NeuroTrainer demonstrated a 7.5% improvement in score behavior, which is a measurement of the behavior that supports schoolwork.

They also showed a 36% and 12% increase in measures of sustained attention.

These improvements were statistically significant and suggest that NeuroTrainer may have the potential to mitigate some of the effects of smartphone usage and social media on attention.

The findings of these studies are particularly relevant to school administrators, as they highlight a potential new tool for improving attention and schoolwork behaviors in students with ADHD.

While further research is needed to confirm these findings and to explore the potential long-term benefits of using NeuroTrainer, the results of the pilot studies are certainly promising.

If approved, the upcoming NIMH grant proposal will be an exciting step forward in this research, potentially paving the way for even more promising results and improved outcomes for students with ADHD.
