CLUB HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Aubrey was traded to the Washington Spirit prior to the 2019 NWSL season, where she became the starting goalkeeper and was named the 2019 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year, as well as earning Best XI honors.
  • In 2021, she was once again named the NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the Washington Spirit to their first NWSL Championship and being named MVP of the Championship Game.

Aubrey shared her thoughts on NeuroTrainer and its impact on her training.

"I've been able to reduce my caffeine intake for training. I used to take a pre-workout caffeine supplement on days I felt tired, groggy, and not as sharp, but now the 10-minute GUST training and assessment give me the same locked-in feeling. That's an easy objective difference. It's nice to not be over-caffeinated now! Additionally, I get more out of training because I require less of a 'warmup.' As a goalkeeper, it usually takes an exercise or two to get my reaction time, decision making, and hand-eye coordination up to speed. Now I feel that I've cut it down to a few reps, enabling me to be at my best for more of the session and make more improvements. The mental benefits from NeuroTrainer are also understated. Being a fierce competitor, I get to practice making mistakes and refocusing in an arena where it doesn't cost me anything. It has helped me work on my emotional control and ability to refocus, which is crucial in high-pressure situations."
